FORM: AUXILIARY VERB 'DO', PRESENT
Se usa para formar oraciones negativas en presente simple con verbos principales. Se coloca 'don't' antes del verbo principal en infinitivo.
Oraciones principales
(op). I don't have a dining room, so we eat in the living room.
No tengo comedor, así que comemos en la sala.
Ejemplos
(1). We don't like other lessons, for example: French language.
No nos gustan otras clases, por ejemplo: el idioma francés.
(2). They don't work on weekends.
Ellos no trabajan los fines de semana.
(3). I don't speak Chinese very well.
No hablo chino muy bien.
Uso del presente simple negativo con ‘don’t’

Sujeto + don’t + verbo principal (infinitivo sin ‘to’)
Diferencias importantes con el español
En español, simplemente añadimos ‘no’ antes del verbo conjugado:
- Español: No tengo dinero
- Inglés: I don’t have money
En inglés necesitamos el auxiliar ‘don’t’ (do not) seguido del verbo en infinitivo.
Reglas clave
- ‘Don’t’ se usa con: I, you, we, they
- El verbo principal siempre va en infinitivo (sin conjugar)
- No se puede omitir el auxiliar ‘don’t’
